a brit just says "and you?" for everything. dutch picks a different bounce-back for each situation.
they sayhoe gaat het?how are you?
you reply
goed, en met jou?
they saywat heb je gekocht?what did you buy?
they sayfijne avond!have a nice evening!
fijne avond! → jij ook!
you too!
fijne avond! → en jij?
wrong for a wish
en jij?
after a doing-question
en met jou?
after "how are you?"
"met jou" uses jou because it comes after the small word "met" — just like in the jij vs jou lesson.
easiest way to rememberdoing-question → en jij? · "how are you?" → en met jou? · a wish → jij ook!
