to talk about the past, dutch loves the "heb ge..." form.
ik heb geslapen
i slept
ik heb gegeten
i ate
ik heb gewerkt
i worked
there’s also a one-word past (ik sliep = i slept), but in speech people use "heb ge..." most.
easiest way to rememberpast = "ik heb ge___" + the verb.
